5 LAN: THE HMI MUST STOP DISCRIMINATION against the group!

Is the HMI establishment DISCRIMINATING against 5 LAN?
Let's keep it real up in here. I have promoters in the past and still up to now who have actually told me that they would only go up to a certain amount in terms of PAYMENT FOR A GIG for the group5 LAN....compared to other "traditional" Compas bands...like they say. Some promoters have flat out told me that because 5LAN is NOT a "real" band...se yon jazz DJ like they say, so they flatly don't deserve to get payed more than regular bands...TO THAT I SAY BULL**IT!!!!!
If 5 LAN is in the same business as all Compas bands, and if they are targeting the same clientele...Compas/Zouk fans to bring to parties....IF THEY BRING IN MORE PEOPLE TO PARTIES THAN MANY "REGULAR" COMPAS BANDS....GIVE THEM THE MONEY THEY DESERVE! POINT BAR! If a promoter's goal is to MAKE MONEY and have as many people as they can attend a party...IF A BAND can bring you more people than another band on a consistent basis, it is only right that their pay be reflected by it. THERE SHOULD BE NO CAP LIMIT in terms of how much a group like 5LAN gets payed for a gig. STOP THE DISCRIMINATION AGAINST THE GROUP! What promoters should be looking at if they are trying to SAVE SOME CHANGE, is that they actually have to pay FOR LESS MUSICIANS in terms of everything that comes with booking the band (Plane ticket, Hotel, Per Diem)...in other words, it becomes a WIN/WIN situation because even if you are paying the group $5000/$6000 (Just an example)...about the same that you are paying a regular band...in the end, you are paying ONLY for 3/4 musicians...instead of 9/10....MONEY SAVED!!!!!
At first it was BANDS that were criticizing 5LAN "ANBA ANBA". Then now they are changing their tune...at least publicly, even if it still pains a few of our bands that a band in that STYLE/FORMAT is getting MORE LOVE from the fans compared to them. In a way, you can understand their frustrations, but they must also understand that if the fans are riding with the group right now, there is nothing that they can do. There was a time in the HMI when FULL BANDS were ridiculing bands such as T-VICE and SWEET MICKY because of their formats; but their popularity soon changed that thought...and promoters rewarded those 2 bands quite well financially because of the results that they were bringing at parties. The same FAIR TREATMENT should be given to 5LAN if they bring more people out to their parties than many of the "regular" bands on the menu.
THE HMI MUST STOP ITS DISCRIMINATION AGAINST 5 LAN....and it must stop NOW!!!!! It is NOT fair. They certainly do NOT "yet" deserve to be paid as much as the consistent heavyweight bands in the game whose popularity have been steady; at the same time...they DESERVE to get payed MORE than many of the other bands on the HMI circuit as well. You wanted them to EARN THEIR STRIPES and GET THEIR RESPECT....THEY'VE GONE OUT THERE AND DONE IT....regardless if the music that they are playing is NOT as "PURE" in terms of compas/musicianship that many would like....the bottom line is THEY HAVE EARNED IT....SO SHOW THEM THE RESPECT $$$
