*KOMPA MAGAZINE: Usually our music stars try to separate their personal lives from their professional lives to the public.
What made you decide to share with the world a glimpse of your personal life by having your wife as your leading lady in your latest music video?
Was it easy or was it hard to do? Did you have to convince her or did she have to convince you in order to make that happen?
I can't really say off the top of my head that I know of any of our leading men in our different bands that have already made that move.
OLIVIER DURET: "I've been asked many times if a song I've written is personal or just general. While my music has some personal aspect to it, I usually take ideas from outside sources/situations. For "je veux m'envoler", I can say it's a lot more personal than usual. It is a general knowledge that being in a relationship has its ups and downs, so I decided to use my personal life for it. It just made sense to make the song as real as possible.
She didn't say yes the first time I asked, but I didn't need to convince her much. She understood my concept and would even give ideas to what the video should look like prior to me asking. I don't know if it's been done in the HMI but it's been done in the AMI many times. Nowadays social media makes it easy for people to know who you're with; so hiding it is pointless lol. It was easy shooting with her. We are used to each other, so we knew what and when to do things, easy to communicate. Mpat bezwen nan kalkile sim ka Bol, sim fè trop, mjust FE. Pati diskisyon an, Nou pran on sijè Nou konn diskite vre epi baton lol. She also knew Abdias already which made things easier.
Overall it was a great experience and we had a great time and I hope that people enjoy watching it as much as we enjoyed making it.
