*KOMPA MAGAZINE: Your assessment of what you saw with your own eyes of the damage caused by hurricane Matthew. Do you think to help relieve the stress in that part of Haiti, bands can have parties in the South, or is it too soon....talking about December.
RENE: "Honestly, it's a bit complicated. I am not certain a bal is what the victims need right now and/nor in December. Music is an integral part of the culture, but when our brothers and sisters are in desperate needs, we need to be a bit more sensible. Yes, a bal or a concert may alleviate people's stress for a week or so, but the HMI would need to step it up in the aftermath. I would not discourage a band or a promoter to schedule a party in the south as long as the intention is good, and they can donate a portion of the proceeds to help the less fortunate."
