Miami promoter KAMIKAZ TI GUY FRANCOIS made this rather blunt straight to the point statement to Kompa Magazine. READ BELOW!



KAMIKAZ: "I believe any band that does their own cd release party WITH OTHER BANDS in the lineup.....SHOWS A SIGN OF WEAKNESS. It shows a sign that you don't believe in your own product to pull in the people BY YOURSELF. I BELIEVE A CD RELEASE PARTY SHOULD BE THE BAND "ONLY", and maybe I'll accept a SOLO GUEST ARTIST. When you do a CD release party, the fans should come FOR YOU and NO ONE ELSE. Any band that needs the involvement of other bands for their CD release parties are NOT STRONG ENOUGH ON THE MARKET."

He's not wrong though if you give it some thought. TiGuy has been in the business for a WHILE and knows what he's talking about. If a band is doing an album release party, wouldn't you want the focus to solely be on YOUR band and the new material that's dropping? The point about accepting a solo artist as part of the party also makes sense, and makes even more sense if that solo artist is a guest on the band's album.

TiGuy bien palé! Believe in your product, market it the right way, promote the album release with enough time and draw your crowd.

FANFAN EPAV: " T-Guy made a good point but Sal pa konnen an pi grand passel. When Tguy francois is after a cd release party it doesn't need a guest band based on who he is in the business with, and which band is doing the cd release. I can tell you he chooses and picks which band to do a cd release with..LOL. If a band don't have someone like Tguy to do a cd release for you, you have no choice to choose another band. It's either or."
