REGINALD CANGE PLAYED WITH ZENGLEN LAST NIGHT: GOOD & BAD!

REGINALD CANGE played on stage with ZENGLEN last night in Montreal....and for the first time was reunited on the same stage with FRERO many years after they had both left to go create FASIL.

Here are MY GOOD/BAD POINTS!

*GOOD
1) MAJOR COUP for the promoter who managed to do what others either could not do, or weren't interested in trying.

2) MONTREAL REPRESENT because it happened in CANADA outside the 2 main markets of Compas (U.S and Haiti), so that helped boost the portfolio of the Montreal market.

3) ZENGLEN fans are reminded of what COULD HAVE BEEN as that DUO (Reginald and Frero) are seen by many as the best 1/2 vocalists punch to have ever played in the band.

*BAD
1) A major move like that should NOT take place at a regular party. LIONEL L. could have made that REGINALD CANGE appearance with ZENGLEN at his yearly festival. LI TAP GIN PLUS BUZZ KE SA LI TE FE YE SWA AN. You would have had more media coverage, more fans.

2) THIS IS "NOT" what Zenglen needs right now when they are trying to "sell" their newest singer WID to the public....for the fans to be reminded of the "ex" that they still have very strong feelings for. To the majority of Zenglen fans, if they are given the choice of having either REGINALD CANGE or WID play next to FRERO in front of the band.....WHO DO YOU THINK THEY ARE GOING TO GO FOR?

3) ZENGLEN should have agreed to make a move like this....REGINALD CANGE as a GUEST STAR.....maybe at a BIGGER OCCASION....perhaps that party that they had with KLASS....the day before; or maybe at a major concert when playing or facing a MAJOR TOP BAND at a major bal.

4) LAST MINUTE....It seemed that the appearance was a last minute thing....after it emerged that WID would not be able to perform in Montreal because of INCOMPLETE ISSUES WITH HIS PAPERS. There was not enough time to create the buzz that was needed for a major POWER PLAY MOVE like that. SI LIONEL PAT FE SA A LA DERNIERE MINUTE.....LI TAP FE PLUS BUZZ AK PLUS $$$$$$ NAN BAL LA!

Having said that......it was good that they put their differences aside to give the fans that were there in Montreal some joy.

I think another 'BAD' needs to also be mentioned here:

There is a clear lack of faith in Frero as the Lead Vocalist...The whole point of having two singers in a band is to not be constrained in the event one cant perform. So why was it necessary to get R. Cange to come "Save the Day" when Frero should be capable of handling the singing responsibilities for a night. I can understand waiting on WID for a Haiti Tour...but just a regular gig on a holiday weekend where turnout will be good? Frero could've and should've handled the duties by himself.

Like KM said...its fine if R. Cange came as a solo special guest artist but not to be lead vocals for the night
