MIKAELLE AIMEE CARTRIGHT: 14 QUESTIONS TO THE ARTIST!
To a lot of people, she is known as the leading lady in Kreyol La's double video for "Triye/Before & After"; but she is much more than that. She is an ARTIST in her own right. Today in order to help uncover the world of MIKAELLE AIMEE CARTRIGHT, we put her to the test KM STYLE with these interesting 14 questions. Check it out below.
1) The best 1 WORD that best describes MIKAELLE as a person. Tell us why?
MICKAELLE: "Bold. Bold because I believe in what I am doing. I am from a pastor's family. I have pushed the envelope with them so much. In Haitian society I have no problem being "different". I don't fit somewhere? I don't care."
2) Would you rather get a compliment from someone telling you that you are SEXY; or would u rather get it for your music? CHOOSE ONE!
MICKAELLE: "I'd rather be complimented for my music. I'll elaborate. Everyone is pretty at one point in their life, but it will not last.
A compliment for your art comes from a deep place. The place where people's souls reside. That's an even more beautiful thing. I hate receiving a compliment for how pretty I was and not to hear what my music or my voice did to their heart. I don't work for people's eyes. I work for their spirit."
3) Your idol in life if you had to choose ONE person. Tell us who and why?
MICKAELLE: "It may sound weird and very "religious." But I'm pretty sure Jesus is my only idol. If I could be more like him... I'd be golden. Earthy model would have to be India Arie
her music is beautiful. The lyrics deep and they awaken the spirit. Her outer beauty is amazing. She is never in gossip tabloids. And she defends a woman's natural look. Providing a positive image for dark skinned women especially.
She's awesome. So yeah. Closest thing to an idol I've got.i should probably get more in touch with successful people to model my steps a bit

MICKAELLE: "My iPad. Because with it. I can get everything else back

5) What is your PROUDEST accomplishment in life up to NOW? Tell us why.
MICKAELLE: "Proudest acomplishment in life up to now would have to be having my own gigs in NYC. It's such a huge deal to me cause I didn't even come here thinking I would be pursuing music in the "big apple" like this. It very hard but I'm very proud of myself."
6) What teacher in school made the most impact on you…Tell us why!
MICKAELLE: "My music teacher. She gave me a chance to sing a variation of styles and get more comfortable with being in stage
Those were my happiest moments. Choir class. The teacher was Miss Medema and she was a total music geek. Made me feel ok about being so passionate about music. She trained me well and I thank her for that."
7) If you could only keep 5 Possessions…what would they be?
MICKAELLE: "My guitar. My phone. My yoga mat. My nail file. My tooth brush."
8) The quickest way for a guy to get MIKAELLE to fall for him is….? The #1 “must have” that can AT LEAST get your foot in the door.
MICKAELLE: "I'm not saying. Can't have everyone reading this article knowing my weaknesses."
9) If you weren’t an artist/musician…my dream profession would be….?
MICKAELLE: "Back when I got out of college I thought I was gonna go back to school and be a urban and regional planner. By now... I think I want to be a doktè fey.
I love city planning. I believe that people need to have a living situation that allows them to live, work and play near home. I also believe that a city should have farmlands near by that is run in part by the same people that are going to use it. Waste management is so important but it's societies greatest failure.
As for being a doktè fey. .. I see myself becoming a healer of sorts. I am in love with my healthy lifestyle and I see how better eating habits can change people's lives and keep them well. As I learn more about plants and their medicinal purposes I know that I can use that to make a difference in a lot of people's lives."
10) The 3 SEXIEST/good looking Haitian artists in your opinion are?
MICKAELLE: "Mac D.... Sanders... Phylisia Ross... T-Joe Zenny... Eud. I'd have put Clara luce in there too but she's not considered an artist necessarily. Well you asked for good looking artists...not my sexual attraction to them."
11) You are extremely good friends with both members of a couple. You find out that one of them is being unfaithful; do you tell the other friend about it; do you talk to the UNFAITHFUL friend, or do you keep it to yourself…knowing if the friend found out that you knew…he or she would be devastated?
MICKAELLE: "I talk to the one cheating. Ask them about it. A lot of times people see things and say something and mess up the bigger picture so I'd want to be sure. If they are in fact cheating, ill tell them that I want to see them do better. They have to decide to stay or to go. But I'll admit I'm biased... if my girlfriend is being cheated on I'll definitely drop very strong hints and convince her to look into it."
12) Are you NOT afraid that it might BACKFIRE…with your friend turning on you for butting in?
MICKAELLE: "If I talk to someone who I suspect for cheating on my friend I consider that a duty. At the very least I spoke to them first and didnt rat them out. So I'll tell them they should be grateful. As for the one being cheated on, if I drop hints and they get mad, that sounds like their problem. They can do what they want with the info. If either of them unfriend me, it'll be out of embarrassment, not cause I did something wrong."
13) The 1 Trait that you consider as your BEST…and the 1 Trait that you would either like to CHANGE or WORK on about you are…? (Personality wise)
MICKAELLE: "Best trait. My kindness. Worst trait. My kindness. I need to be picker about who I am nice too. A lot of people mistake it as an invitation into my life and I can't be that vulnerable. I need to find balance."
14) Are you FOR or ANTI Abortion? Tell us why.
MICKAELLE: "I believe every case is different. I don't believe a child's life should be thrown away over futile matters. In the case of an unwanted pregnancy I think that only the mother can decide (it's her body. She will be linked in a completely unique way to this life) And if she's going to do that, trained physicians need to offer her a safe option. I hate abortion, but I hate when children are unwanted and uncared for even more."
