ROBERTO: "Fom diw se yon gwo miracle ke bal sa fe o mwen 600 moun. There was a state of emergency. Floodings all over nou manke bloke anba a. Ampil moun achte tix and did not make it. Lapli tombe san rete depi'n rive jis nou pati."

*KOMPA MAGAZINE: Is that a market that you think is going to become a regular for the different bands in the business?
ROBERTO: "Yep cause there is a huge haitian community there and more and more Haitians are moving there. It's the richest country in South America."

*KOMPA MAGAZINE: Are you scheduled to go back there anytime soon?
ROBERTO: "Yes, the promoter is already working on a date before the end of the year."

*KOMPA MAGAZINE: Chile market seems to be threatening to surpass The Dominican republic market in terms of bands playing. Would you say that's accurate or not?
ROBERTO: "It will because there is a huge demand for kompa over there. With the overflow of Haitians moving there and influencing Chileans. I saw many Chileans as well at the concert. The welcome we got there was overwhelming. The organization was on point and the fans were amazing! Can't wait to get back."

Despite the political and social injustices that still plague Haitians in DR...I cant see a place like Chile having a bigger demand for konpa. Not in the immediate future. the DR situation is messed up for sure but its still a market these bands will continue to pursue more favorably over a new and uncertain market like Chile
