Les festivités carnavalesques du premier jour gras sont suspendues à Port-au-Prince
Port-au-Prince, le 7 février 2016.- Le Bureau de Communication de la Primature informe la population en général et tous ceux que la question intéresse en particulier, que les festivités carnavalesques du premier jour gras, soit le dimanche 7 février 2016 sont suspendues à Port-au-Prince, à cause des complications relatives aux événements marquant la fin du mandat présidentiel le même jour.

Le Premier ministre Evans Paul réitère son appel au calme et demande une nouvelle fois aux différents secteurs impliqués dans la crise que traverse le pays à faire preuve de responsabilité, en préservant un climat serein de dialogue pour mieux Vivre Ensemble.

This year would have been a perfect one to host Kanaval in a different city in Haiti. But so much in Haiti revolves around the office of the president...

No surprise but I really think the thought of having carnival during these politically turbulent times just seems out of place and inappropriate. JUST MY OPINION!

It is a great move from our Prime Minister, Evans Paul. In my own opinion, this year carnival should be cancelled due to unrest and chaos in the country. More importantly, the carnival fund can be used to other plans assisting the people under-privileged.

While some of you are saying that Carnaval should be cancelled, last night Champ-De-Mars was filled with people having fun and enjoying themselves. Mim'm si pa guin Float, Rara band will be on foot... ..Carnaval pi red!!!!!
