We asked SWAG MIZIK's KIKI for a little update on where the group is at on their debut CD. Read what he told us below.

KIKI SWAG: "So far we have more than enough songs for the album. The hardest part is selecting 12 songs that will actually be on the album, and honestly all the songs have great potential. As the maestro of the band, my main focus is making sure that none of our material sounds like another band. Sometimes as musician/fan of a certain band, can cause you to lean on their sound a little bit and we definitely don't want that to happen being that this will be our first album. We are carefully listening to the songs over and over, adding flavor, making sure that we have the right sound and the originality that we are looking for."

even though his goal is not to sound like another band...the comparisons will still come bc thats the only way Haitians can assess new bands...vle pa vle yap di yo sound like 'X' band.

Maestro sole focus should be on content and structure for album selection...give people a variety not just too much konpa direct or too much pleyen and now too much konpa gouyad
