Obviously Roberto as a musician can always recognize a HIT song and also it makes him even a bigger man to publicly admit it. But having said that I also think if indeed this song becomes a HIT it would definitely be something that we've heard before in either "Nos indiferences", "Confession", and even "Notre Histoire" with maybe some different musical arrangement but really as a hardcore Kompa fan my favorite track on the album is "Haiti Quel Espoir" which is a great PURE kompa song with great lyrics and arrangements. My God the beginning of the song the first 0:23 sec is a HIT in itself and then the horn section underneath Arly's voice right after he started singing and then at the 1:11 min mark the horns and the drums wow; not to mention the guitar solo at the 3:10 min mark then some great backgroud vocals: "Siw renmen'l vre ede'l sot nan sa" then "Nou mele, Nou Mele" and then OMG a trompette solo (I imagine Andre Dejean) to finish the song off.
I mean if we really want to talk about Kompa direck and NOT Zouk Love that all our Bands want to play these days in order for them to score a HIT, songs like Haiti Quel Espoir, Anmwe Sekou of Klass and "San Manti" of DiSip are great Kompa songs; and you know what I really think that we need to produce more songs like those not necessary with the same Lyrics about Haiti but those are great Kompa direk productions; and by the way Roberto "Lakay se Lakay" of T-Vice can fit right in there also. I think it's time that we go back to playing Kompa direk again like Skah Shah, System Band and all the other legendary groups did in the past..
In general great work Maestro and thanks. I encourage you to keep producing great Kompa direk tracks like that one as I know you're capable of doing because after all Nu Look is a Hardcore Kompa group just as Zenglen, Djakout and Klass are..And I truly believe that in other places in the world it's our original Kompa direk that they want to listen to and appreciate, not the R&B, HIP HOP or Zouk Love that they are already so accustomed to..My 2 cents!
