DJAKOUT #1 DROPPED THE BALL!
DJAKOUT#1 CHOUTE DEYO!

Today is LABOR DAY in NYC. T-VICE will be back on the PARKWAY today representing the flag, as well as flexing their BUSINESS BRAND MUSCLES because as is usually the case, they have once again succeeded in bringing the fans in NYC a carnaval appearance. YOU KNOW WHO ELSE SHOULD HAVE BEEN DOING THE SAME.......DJAKOUT#1.

It is no secret that in terms of kanaval in Haiti, the DJAKOUT/T-VICE polemic is the one that has most people waiting in anticipation every year SOU BETON AN. In years past, T-VICE used to always get the best of their rivals; but in the past few years, people will say that DJAKOUT has gotten the best of the battle at times; and have closed the gap considerably in Haiti when it comes to that.

Having said that, in terms of business and marketing the brand globally...or across the waters....DJAKOUT has "NOT" capitalized on that recent kanaval success in Haiti....elsewhere. Based on how well the group has done recently at carnivals in Haiti, DJAKOUT should be one of the first 2 names mentioned for the Parkway in terms of having a float "reserved" every year. (T-Vice being the other name). DJAKOUT should have sponsors lining up to bring them money or offers to create a float for them in order to put them out on the Parkway for Labor Day every year....just like their rivals T-VICE. DJAKOUT #1 IS THE REASON WHY HAITIAN FANS IN THE U.S CAN'T ENJOY THE SAME AMBIANCE THAT THE VICE/DJAKOUT POLEMIC BRINGS TO FANS IN HAITI EVERY YEAR. They are the reason why us as Haitian fans in NYC can't feel the exact same impact at canals HERE that our brothers/sisters in Haiti feel every year.

DJAKOUT#1 as a business should be pro-active in trying to tie up that particular piece of business for the band every year. It is after all one of the major reasons that the band gets a lot of hype every year...no matter how popular or "EN BAISSE" that they might be at that particular time. DJAKOUT TE MET SOU BEKI...MIN DEPI KANAVAL RIVE.....MWEN GARANTI W...WAP PALE DE JAZZ LA...PASKE EPOK KANAVAL...SE EPOK JAZZ LA! (Same goes for T-VICE)

DJAKOUT can try to lay the blame on people that are working with them in NYC NOT doing "enough" in trying to secure what is needed for the group to make it on the parkway every year; but to me that is a LAME EXCUSE to fall back on. The band should NOT rely on 1 person to handle such a huge task every year...if the results are NOT guaranteed. The group THEMSELVES should engage sponsors early and often QUICKLY every year after kanaval in Haiti, in order to secure their float for the Parkway. They should also add different capable members on their team JUST FOR THAT PURPOSE ONLY. It should be an annual thing if the opportunity presents itself. For some reason, you just get the feeling that the group is just happy to get gigs filled up on their calendar; but not really interested as much in terms of PUSHING THE BRAND. Do you know how many bands WISH they had THE AUTOMATIC ATTENTION that DJAKOUT gets when kanaval comes around? JAKOUT just does NOT do enough with it....OUTSIDE OF HAITI IN A BUSINESS SENSE.

While the fans will be going crazy on the Parkway today supporting and representing; you can't help but wonder by asking yourself....WHY IS DJAKOUT#1 "NOT" OUT THERE like they should be? They have certainly earned the right based on what they have done for kanaval in Haiti. WE ALSO HOPE THAT THE MUSICIANS IN THE BAND WILL BE WONDERING THE SAME.....hoping that it will be the wakeup call that they need in order to handle their BRANDING BUSINESS better.

I think even hardcore Djakout #1 fans who are REALIST will agree that Djakout #1 has always been a band who likes to rest on their laurels and are not really into being pro-active especially when it comes to business decisions that take effort from the collective. I do believe there are some members of the group who are willing to do more but when it's not a group effort it can be frustrating and not worth it to the ones who are doing more. Djakout #1 at this time seems ONLY content with putting all their efforts into the motherland which is at least something.

If I may, I would like to also take this moment to thank all the bands and invited artists who did make it to the parkway, it was much appreciate. :)
